Hello, I'm Kloris, a counselling psychologist. Many people imagine that anyone working in psychology or counselling must be one of the lucky ones, someone who's never been through much hardship, sailing through life, and that's how they can hold space for other people's emotions.
In fact, there's a concept in psychology called the Wounded Healer, and that's the kind of person I am. I grew up with all sorts of family difficulties, and there was a time I skipped school more than I attended. I came to know the helplessness and impermanence of life intimately, yet it was these very experiences that, in their own roundabout way, led me to become a counselling psychologist, and to see the possibilities within a life.
I meet every client with empathy, hoping you'll feel understood and safe enough to tell your story, and find an outlet for the tangle of feelings inside.
I believe everyone is the expert on their own life. I listen closely to the experiences and thoughts that matter to you, and face life's hard parts alongside you.
Across race, gender, sexual orientation, religion and more, I hold a humble heart, ready to respect, to try to understand, to listen, and to walk with you.
I pay attention to your strengths through the counselling process, helping you meet another side of yourself, and explore how your own unique strengths can move you forward.
One-on-one in person, online counselling for Hongkongers abroad, organisation partnerships, and more.
